About The Studio
Our studio resides in the Cox Cannery in Eugene's eclectic Whiteaker neighborhood. With a ground floor main studio and an upstairs annex, it combines to provide 2400 square feet of workspace with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and plenty of parking.
Our facilities accommodate a variety of printmaking techniques such as etching, woodcut, monotype, collagraph, screenprint and letterpress. Please take a look at the growing list of presses and other equipment available at the studio. We provide many inks and supplies for communal use and offer plate materials for sale at cost.
Our studio work environment supports the latest in sustainable, non-toxic printmaking practices.
Whiteaker Printmakers offers a variety of workshops and print-oriented community art events and is often open to the public during the Last Friday Art Walks to demonstrate printmaking techniques and exhibit members' works.
About The Proprietors
Whiteaker Printmakers LLC is owned and operated by us, Heather and Paul Halpern. Heather, an artist and printmaker, is motivated by the desire to do printmaking. Paul is motivated by the desire to get Heather's presses out of the garage.
We are very grateful to all the printmakers, artists, and other community members who have not only inspired our vision but seriously jump-started our launch by loaning equipment and tools, donating supplies and time, shlepping very heavy things, getting the word out, painting and decorating, designing graphics and web pages, and by encouraging us with their technical expertise, business advice, and moral support.
