About the workshop

Carve a woodblock plate and print from it! This workshop is composed of demonstrations and guided instructions that will prepare you to use traditional printmaking methods to produce woodblock prints. The first half of the workshop will focus on plate preparation, while the second half will focus on printing methods.

All levels are welcome.  Bring your own woodcarving tools or purchase a $12 starter set from the studio.

Wood blocks, paper, ink, and other materials will be supplied. Each participant will be given two birch plywood blocks to carve, one small, one medium.  Additional blocks may be purchased at the studio.

Participants should bring an idea or two for their designs, pre-drawn on paper.

Lunch is not provided. You can bring your lunch and eat it at the studio, or pop out to one of the many fine eating establishments in the neighborhood.
