About the Workshop

Join our intermediate screen print workshop to develop multi-color prints. Learn layout, burning, and registration methods for unlimited color options in future prints.

Prior screen printing experience is preferable, but not necessary! While we’ll cover basic processes, the focus is on registered printing and editioning.

In the first session, we’ll review coating screens with emulsion, and image transfer. Participants will coat their screens for the next week. The latter half will cover pre-press layout and artwork organization and include printing demonstrations and practice.

Between sessions, you’ll have a week to work on your hand-drawn or digital image.

In the second session, participants will learn about various multi-color registration techniques, inks, and how to edition.  From creating stencils to printing and screen reclamation, you’ll learn it all and print your own art!

All materials provided, including screens, poster ink, emulsion, and transparencies. Each student can print up to 10 prints on provided paper, with the option to purchase more if time allows.

About the Instructor

Brit Howard began screen printing in 2003 at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She graduated with a bachelors degree in both Classical Sculpture and Printmaking in 2007.

When not pulling or pushing a squeegee, she can be found out in nature with her old grumpy dog, Duke Hazard, or on a motorcycle without Duke Hazard. She manages to support herself (barely), by doing freelance illustration, commercial printing, and helping local artists produce quality art of their own. Typically, this involves t-shirt and flat stock printing though she has been known to print on whatever substrates fall into her lap.

Brit believes artists are physical philosophers, realizing their ideas through tangible manifestations.
Also, she is a nice person.
And, she believes that only self-proclaimed idiots refer to themselves in the third-person.
Lastly, she hopes to meet you.
