About the Class

Relief printing is a versatile printmaking process where an image is carved into a block, leaving the raised areas to receive ink and create the final print. In this class, you’ll explore the basics of carving, inking, and printing while experimenting with line, texture, shape, and contrast. Relief printing is process-oriented and expressive, offering plenty of room for experimentation and personal style.This 8 week introductory course will take students through all the basics of relief printmaking and dive into some of the more advanced techniques like multi-block color printing.

Some materials will be provided in this class. Students will receive a materials list once classes get ready to begin.

About the Instructor

Levi is a multidisciplinary artist with work in a variety of styles. His work ranges from hyperrealistic to graphical, focusing on animals, and our relationship to the natural world. Levi has an associates in Fine Arts and a a Masters in Nonprofit Management. Currently, Levi is working with Cascades Raptor Center and teaching multiple classes with Maude Kerns Art Center.
